Ford Transit & Transit Custom · 2.0 EcoBlue
Wet belt failed? Don't pay £5,000.
A snapped wet belt drops debris into the oil pump and starves the engine — that's why the dealer quote is £5k. We fix it for a flat £2,800 +VAT. Roughly half the price, with a number you can actually plan around.
What a failed wet belt actually does
The 2.0 EcoBlue runs its timing belt inside the engine, soaked in oil — a “wet belt.” As it ages it sheds rubber. That debris blocks the oil pump pickup.
Once oil pressure drops, the engine eats itself in seconds. That's why it died without warning, and why a garage that hasn't opened it up will quote you £4,000–£5,000 — they're pricing for a full engine because they don't know what they'll find.
We do this one repair, all day. We know what to look for, so we can give you a flat price up front.

FAQ
What if it actually needs an engine?+
Most don't — but if yours does, we find out on inspection and give you the recon-engine price before any work starts. The £2,800 +VAT is the wet-belt repair; you'll never get a surprise invoice.
How long will it take?+
Recovery is usually within a day or two of booking. The repair itself is typically a few working days once your van is with us. We won't promise same-day on a failure job — anyone who does is guessing.
Do you really come to me?+
Yes — anywhere in mainland UK. Recovery is £2.50/mile from our workshop, quoted instantly below from your postcode.
Is the price really flat?+
The wet-belt repair is a flat £2,800 +VAT. The only variable is recovery mileage (charged at £2.50/mile, no VAT) and the rare case where the engine itself is gone — both of which we're upfront about before you commit.
Why is the dealer quoting double?+
Because they price for the worst case without opening the engine. We specialise in exactly this failure, so we can quote the real number.
